Amanda + Cory - Wedding with Alexandra Madison Weddings at the Columbia Museum of Art

Amanda and Cory had one amazing wedding day. From getting ready and portraits at the fabulous Hotel Trundle, to Ceremony and Reception at the stunning Columbia Museum of Art.

The day was full of beautiful details and color and fabulous moments like…helping bustle the brides gown and handing my camera off to the catering captain who grabbed a photo of Josh taking a photo of me. There were so many fun moments throughout the day, and we were thrilled to be part of it all!

Rebecca - Bridal Session at the SC State House

Shooting at the South Carolina State House is indeed a staple. Shooting inside? It can really be a treat, but it’s not without it’s challenges :) In this case, challenge accepted. Rebecca was stunning and looked absolutely effortless in her gown as we trapesed around the state house avoiding the gusting wind. These were just a few of our favorites!

Leslie + Parker - Wedding at Forest Lake Club, Columbia, SC

Being a wedding photographer can often times mean going far beyond taking photos. Sometimes it’s knowing how to bustle a gown. Other times it’s as simple as carrying a pair of tiny scissors in your bag because lord knows how many times in one day a group of people needs a pair of scissors!

On this particular wedding day we carried another tool that just so happened to be bolt cutters. Yes.

Bolt cutters.

Why you ask? Because of a long standing tradition on the grooms side of the family to padlock a chain around the grooms neck with no key and no intention of taking it off until after the festivities were over. We were warned, and we came prepared.

Leslie and Parker’s wedding day was just pure fun. From getting ready, to photos on the trolley and an INSANE reception, we had a blast and it was truly one to remember.

Abby + Ryan - Engagement Session at the South Carolina State House

Looking for an easy, beautiful, and generally stress free location for photos? Then we’ll see you at the State House :) I’ve always felt like the State House gets a bad rap with things like “well EVERYONE does their photos there”. True, the State House is popular, but for a reason. It’s diverse and the grounds are always maintained. Don’t like the building? No problem! It doesn’t even have to appear in photos and bonus, did I mention it’s free?

We had a great time running around the grounds with Abby and Ryan on another sunny Summer day!

Dara + Wes - Wedding at City Art

So another fun aspect of waiting so long to blog is that details become a little fuzzy. For instance, who initiated the leap frog? And, why is the flower girl following that dog. Was there a dog there? Who’s dog was that? Okay, okay. Most of the questions are about this dog.

What I do remember are the sweet people, lots of little running around being cute as a button, and getting to watch Dara and Wed cross the street after the ceremony with the happiest of smiles on their faces. Here, as always, are just a few of my favorites.
